Political Communications/Marketing Internship

Description
Progressive Public Affairs is a growing lobbying, political marketing and communications agency based in Chicago. Our business is helping individuals and organizations with their goal of creating a better world. Our clients include state and local elected officials, policy institutes, progressive organizations and government agencies.

We’re currently seeking highly qualified, passionate and dedicated young citizens to lend their talents to our growing practice. Interns will be expected to help with the development of an outreach program, which will include managing contacts with media sources and community leaders, creating press releases and marketing the services being offered. This is an ideal opportunity for a student who wishes to pursue a career in marketing, communications, PR, government, public service or social change.

Requirements
We’re looking for a student with a good knowledge of marketing that is enthusiastic about progressive change. Excellent research and writing skills are essential, as well as familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite. Must be outgoing as the position requires speaking on the phone and interacting with officials.

Graphic Design Internship

Our clients include state and local elected officials, policy institutes, progressive organizations and government agencies. We’re currently expanding our marketing operations and are seeking highly qualified, passionate and dedicated young citizens to lend their talents to our growing practice. Design interns will be responsible for developing fact sheets, presentations and reports under the guidance of the professional staff, This is an ideal opportunity for a student who wishes to pursue a career in graphic design, web design, marketing, consulting, government, public service or social change.

Requirements
We’re looking for a student with excellent design and layout skills that is proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Web designing skills are also a plus, including familiarity with flash, html and java.

Compensation
We require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. The internship is unpaid, however you may make arrangements with your school to receive academic credit for this position
